Community Connections: Angel Tree and Housing Progress in Johnson City |
Two Salvation Army programs highlight holiday giving and paths toward stable housing |

Two recent Johnson City reports highlight different ways the Salvation Army serves people in the community.
Helping families prepare for Christmas. WJHL reports that more than 1,000 children are registered for the local Angel Tree program this year. Angel Tree tags are expected to appear at participating businesses, churches and other locations, giving residents a way to help provide holiday gifts.
Recognizing progress toward housing. The Johnson City Salvation Army's Center of Hope is celebrating 99 positive exits from its program, according to WJHL. The organization works with people experiencing homelessness and helps participants move toward permanent housing.
These updates offer two opportunities for community involvement: asking local Angel Tree partners how to sponsor a child and learning how regional organizations support people working toward stable housing. Confirm current participation information directly with the organizations. |
