Downtown Johnson City Micro-Grant Applications Now Open

New funding is available to help improve storefronts, buildings and public-facing spaces in the city's Main Street district.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Downtown Johnson City business and property owners have a new opportunity to invest in their buildings through a fresh round of micro-grant funding.

Connect Downtown Johnson City is now accepting applications for its Downtown Micro-Grant Program, which provides financial assistance for projects that enhance the appearance, accessibility and vitality of the city's Main Street district. The grants are intended to encourage improvements that make downtown more welcoming for residents, visitors and businesses alike.

Eligible projects may include storefront enhancements, exterior improvements, signage, public art, outdoor gathering spaces and other upgrades that contribute to the character of downtown. Applications will be reviewed based on project impact, community benefit and alignment with the city's downtown revitalization goals.

The program is part of Johnson City's ongoing efforts to support small businesses, preserve historic buildings and strengthen the downtown business district through strategic reinvestment.

Business owners and property owners interested in applying are encouraged to review the program guidelines and submit applications before the posted deadline. Additional information, eligibility requirements and application materials are available through Connect Downtown Johnson City.

City officials say the program is another step toward building a vibrant, walkable downtown that continues to attract new businesses, residents and visitors while supporting those already invested in the community.
