Halloween weekend is here, bringing family activities, college football and community celebrations across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

Here are several upcoming events for Friday, October 30, through Sunday, November 1.

Friday, October 30: Greeneville Halloween Happenings

Downtown Greeneville hosts its free Halloween celebration from 4 to 6 p.m., with trick-or-treating at participating locations and seasonal activities for families.

Drivers should plan for downtown road closures and parking restrictions beginning ahead of the event.

For complete traffic details, see our separate article on Greeneville Halloween Happenings.

Saturday, October 31: Oak Hill Fall Festival in Kingsport

Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services plans a daytime Halloween Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 800 Truxton Drive.

Announced attractions include pumpkins, painting, candy and food trucks.

For complete festival details, read the separate Oak Hill feature in this edition.

Saturday, October 31: ETSU Homecoming and Spooky Saturday

ETSU hosts Tennessee Tech at 3:30 p.m. at Greene Stadium in Johnson City.

Halloween-themed uniforms and game promotions join Homecoming festivities, with some activities continuing through Sunday.

See our separate ETSU Homecoming article for more details and official event resources.

Sunday, November 1: ETSU Homecoming Gospel Choir Brunch Concert

ETSU's official Homecoming schedule lists a gospel choir brunch concert at 11 a.m. in the D. P. Culp Student Center ballroom.

Check the university's official calendar for participation and attendance details.

Looking ahead to November

Jonesborough's Made Around Here Market is scheduled for November 6 and 7 at the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center.

That event is next weekend, not part of the October 30–November 1 calendar.

Before heading out

Event times, parking, admissions and weather arrangements may change, especially for outdoor celebrations.

Confirm final details with organizers and allow extra travel time around busy downtown streets and the ETSU campus.

Whether you're taking children trick-or-treating, cheering on the Buccaneers or enjoying autumn together, there are several ways to spend Halloween weekend close to home.
