Where to Watch July 4 Fireworks Across the Tri-Cities

Johnson City, Bristol and Elizabethton are planning major Independence Day celebrations with music, parades, family activities and fireworks.

TRI-CITIES, Tenn./Va. — Independence Day will bring several big community celebrations across the Tri-Cities, giving families multiple options for fireworks, live music and patriotic events close to home.

In Johnson City, the 40th Pepsi Independence Day Celebration returns to Freedom Hall Civic Center on Saturday, July 4. The free event includes food trucks, children’s activities, Touch-A-Truck, vendors and live music, with Shenandoah headlining the evening. The fireworks, lights and video show is scheduled for shortly after 10 p.m.

In Bristol, the city’s 2026 Stars and Stripes Celebration begins with the Star-Spangled July 4 Parade at 5 p.m. along State Street. The celebration continues at Anderson Park with live music, food vendors, children’s activities and fireworks to close the evening.

In Elizabethton, the Independence Day Celebration will take place at Covered Bridge Park. The day includes an opening ceremony, free inflatables, live music, concessions, patriotic activities and what the city bills as its largest fireworks show. This year’s celebration also adds a patriotic parade in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary.

Kingsport’s largest fireworks moment comes later in July during Fun Fest, which runs across the city with concerts, community events and a fireworks finale on Saturday, July 25.

Families planning to attend any celebration should arrive early, bring lawn chairs or blankets, and check city pages before leaving home for weather updates, parking details and any rules about coolers, tents or pets.
